Obituary for Diana Carnicelli Rush

Diana Carnicelli Rush, formerly of Silver Ave., Auburn, died peacefully Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Commons on St. Anthony.
Diana was a native of Auburn, the daughter of the late Samuel and Catherine DiGiaimo Carnicelli. She was a graduate of Auburn West High School. She was a longtime resident of the Auburn and Utica areas. She was employed for many years as a private duty nurse, and at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica. She was a member of the Carnicelli-Indelicato Post American Legion Auxiliary, and will be remembered for her wonderful singing voice.
She is survived by her sisters Philomena Carnicelli and Ida Morabito, and her brother Anthony Carnicelli, all of Auburn, 9 nieces, 16 nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Patrick Rush in 1996, 6 brothers John, Carmen, Roland, James, Arthur, and PFC Charles Carnicelli who was killed in action during WW II, 3 sisters Josephine Carnicelli, Louise Aubin and Norma Riffle, and 3 nephews Thomas Aubin, Samuel Carnicelli and Charles Riffle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 A.M. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call Tuesday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St.
