Obituary for Maria Macyczko (Fromel)

Maria Macyczko, 96, of Auburn, passed away Monday April 3, 2017 at Auburn Community Hospital, surrounded by her loving Family.
Maria was born January 29, 1921 in Smolniak, Ukraine. She emigrated to the United States with her husband Teodor in 1952 following several years in Ascnaffenburg, Germany. She was retired from the former Cayuga Savings Bank.
Mrs. Macyczko was a devout Ukrainian Catholic and a member of SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church for several decades. She was a member of the Sacred heart Society and the St. Mary’s Society at the church.
Maria will always be remembered for her kind, warm heart and smile, and her hospitality. Everyone was welcomed in her home. She was her family’s biggest hero and pillar of strength. She experienced many hardships and persevered through them all.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years Teodor “Ted” Macyczko, her daughters Julie Lupo and Anne Kott and her very special son-in-law James Kott,all of Auburn, her grandchildren Melissa Lupo of Auburn and Crystal Lupo (Jason Stroman) of Alabama, and great grandchildren Nico, Rocco, Ronin and Agapi. Very dear to her heart are her great niece Lily, great nephew Alex and their father Eric Howard.
She was predeceased by her loving niece and goddaughter Darlene Howard in 2014, her brother Stephen Fromel in 2008, sister-in-law Julia Fromel in 1991, nephew Stephen Fromel in 1973, and great grandchildren Phoebe, Isabella and Hildie.
A very special thank you to her dear best friend Antonia Rotko for her years of friendship and kindness, and to the angel in her life Tina Vincent who brought joy and smiles to Maria in her last few years.
Friends are invited to call on the family from 10 A.M. Thursday in SS Peter & Paul Church with funeral services to follow at 11 A.M. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to SS Peter & Paul Church.
